Dr. Salman Iqbal has over 30 years of experience in software development and technology services with proven leadership capability in successful execution of commercial and business strategies. He was founder and CEO of Softech Systems for over 25 years, exited it recently leaving behind a very profitable going concern.
Softech specialized in developing products and providing services in capital and financial markets, telecom, healthcare (including application of IoT in nursing care), social and digital media solutions. It serviced a large base of prestigious customers spread across 4 continents partnering with likes of Ericsson worldwide and Facelift Germany (Europe’s leading social media and content management platform provider) for over a decade as software development partner.
Dr. Iqbal is a recognized expert in capital market product development, lending his expertise and management skills to design and develop critical real-time business solutions such as stock exchange clearing, depository and online trading platforms. A large base of banks deploy Softech designed mutual fund asset management platform for providing complete end to end digital experience to their customers.
He serves as a consultant and committee member to many prestigious institutes. He served as visiting faculty at LUMS and several other universities. Worked as chairperson of technology committee of FEAS (Federation of over 30 Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges), Istanbul, Turkey. Serving as Council Member to National Computing Education Accreditation Council (Higher Education Commission, Pakistan). Electrical Engineer by profession, he attended University of Sussex, UK, for his Doctorate studies. He has several international publications in his areas of interest. He’s poised to lead this organization to steeper growth and greater profitability in near future.
Osama has held senior positions at Plasti Kraft; Saudi Chemical Recycling Establishment (SCRE), Saudi Arabia; and Softech Systems Pvt. Ltd. At Plasti Kraft, Osama has been responsible for heading all business and product development operations.
As Business Unit Head at SCRE, Osama was instrumental in establishing and successfully heading a completely export-oriented business unit with a strong product export base in the Far Eastern, European, African, Latin American and North American regions.
The role of Functional Analyst at Softech Systems was pivotal in augmenting Osama’s core skills in idea conception, systems design and development as well as customer handling in the tech sector.
Osama holds a M.Sc. in Management Information System from the London School of Economics & Political Science and a B.Sc. in Economics & Management from the University of London (external programme).
Shehmir holds over 13 years of accounting & financial management experience, having held senior accounting and finance positions at Plasti Kraft and Pakistan Today. At Plasti Kraft, Shehmir has been responsible for preparing and interpreting financial plans, budgets and financial statements; and consolidating and analyzing financial data, taking into account company’s goals and financial position. Extensive financial experience at this role has prepared him to provide alternatives to reduce costs, offer professional judgment on financial matters and advise on ways to improve business performance.
At Pakistan Today, Shehmir developed and controlled a centralized accounting system, ensuring accounts were effectively managed. As Senior Management Accountant, he prepared and presented timely and reliable management information reports. In addition, he was responsible for dealing with the organization’s suppliers, external auditors, banks, tax authorities and other government departments. This role helped him develop strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Shehmir holds CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) professional qualification from the UK.
